Late!

In case some of you get creative and ahead of yourselves, NO this is not what you think. It is not about that kind of “late” and we are expecting again! God, no!

I guess it is due to the way we announced our pregnancies to our close friends, always over group dinner, these days whenever we meet up for dinner and when I told them I have something to say, they will usually go “Pregnant again hah?!” The best part is they say it with such enthusiasm the people next table could have easily mistaken it as our first. Each time we will have to tell them a big ‘NO!’ and reaffirm that we are not trying already but I guess hearing it is not good enough. So here it is guys, in writing.

“We wanted 3 and we have 3 so we’re DONE!! The factory is closed!!”

Anyway back to my original post.

This is something that I wanted to blog about since before we even have the twins which makes the title even more apt.

I actually took pride that I was almost never late for anything besides work but that is a complete different thing altogether. As a matter of fact I used to be early on most occasions because I really dislike having to wait for people who practice rubber time. This was until I attended a sales seminar and the trainer said that being early is also a form of poor time management as we should be on time and not waste precious minutes waiting. Since then I always try to be on time, not too early and never late.

This all changed after we had Isaac. I am not sure if this only applies to us or maybe some of you parents share the same sentiment. Somehow after we have a child we are always late for all gatherings.

It is not like we have gotten lazier or fatter or simply cannot be bothered. We actually plan and time and make it a point to leave by a certain time so that we will not be late but sadly we fail each time.

When there was only Isaac we had to pack his bag and fill it with diapers, change of clothes, milk, water (both normal and hot), biscuits, toys, tissue, wet wipes and God knows what. Even when we had the bags packed the night before we still find ourselves rushing to clean and change him before dashing out the door to the car hoping that I can make up lost time with my driving.

Now that we have 3 kids, you can only imagine the kind of mad rush that we have to go through each time. We have told so many people that going out these days is a really big project. Whatever we had to pack for Isaac, we have to triple it now. Most of the time we have to go out with 2 bags of the kids stuffs. I have to clarify that the Mrs and Ani will usually organize things way before but it is still hard to leave at the designated time due to the children sleeping. As much as possible we try not to wake them up so most of the time we waited impatiently.

The moment they’re up, it’s different roles for each of us. We will have to take turn to change ourselves as well as change all the babies. Whoever is ready will have to carry the babies and make last minute check before we dash out of the door. On the way to the venue we will be busy texting our friends to apologise.

With 3 babies sleeping at different time of the day it is quite challenging to even go out at all. Having said that, we still managed to go out for a total of about 6 hours with all 3 babies in tow. This happened after one of Isaac’s trial enrichment class on a particular weekend. By the time we got home both adults and babies are exhausted.

I will blog about the trial classes that we have attended after Isaac has started his actual enrichment class. In the meantime below are some of the most recent pictures of our babies!

The big boy that Isaac is now!

Although big boy now but he still has his infamous cheeky smile!!

Doesn't Luke look like Isaac?

The 3 little pigs! Actually more like a pig and 2 oxes!

Notice how happy Isaac is with his siblings?

The helpers that truly adore them!

The Mrs and our babies!!!

Your babies are totally adorable! Very the cute wor!

Isaac really slim down quite alot, just like Cleo. I guess it's never easy to maintain their 'fatness' after a while.

Btw, all your babies are huge ya, as babies. Your twins also really quite big now, I like! Hee

For me, 'good' thing is that, we don't meet our friends so we are still not that in trouble for lateness. But then, being late is something which I totally hate as I love to be on time. So I guess I can't complain much when we have our own timing.

Hi Dylan,

Finally some pictures of all your darlings! The twins have certainly grown much! Good to see all here :)

Isaac is such a big boy. What a lovely family potrait, in all bliss & happiness.

I truly agree on the part of being late. Somehow, always have last min stuff to deal with baby just before we step out of the house.

in the pic where fat is seated with the twins, they all look alike; can tell that they have similar features. =) but yes, luke is the photocopy image of fat when fat was younger while hayley, when u take a closer look, is a tad different...

cute lah, the twins. ytr both smiled at me. heh...

maybe should spend some time to take more pics when we go out for dinner in the coming sunday - with parents and all...

noted one comment has been deleted. i wonder if you have a hate fan; these ppl are somehow so strange. am not sure if you do feel it but i can actually sense the bitterness (read: jealousy + soreness) from the words and the tone...

You and your Mrs have very adorable and beautiful children.

All three of them simply lovely! Issac has grown taller and is "photocopied" image of yours. Both Luke and Hayley so chubby..

It has been so long since you post photos. They are like growing so much overnight. Haha. maybe you shld do it more often. I am sure yr followers would want to see photos as well!

The kids all look like one another, esp Luke and Isaac. What a beautiful family portrait!

Hi Cecilia,

Thanks for your compliment.

Luke does really look like Isaac and Hayley is very girlish indeed. Not only her look but her mannerism as well.

Actually the pictures were all taken at Isaac's Godma's place which is in the east. But we do live in the west so we could still be neighbours.

Hi Nicole,

Thanks for your compliment.

Isaac has slimmed down indeed but he is gaining weight though. He is floating around 11.5kg now. The Mrs is disappointed at not being able to retain his "fatness". Hahaha

You think they are huge? Hmmm... The tiwns have definitely grown, that's for sure. Luke is about 7kg plus now while Hayley is about 1kg lighter. Not bad for premature babies.

Hi Joyce,

Long time no hear from you. Must be really busy.

I have been busy and lazy hence I have even not put up the delivery pictures of the twins in my FB yet.

Will definitely do so one of these days. Hopefully soon.

Hi JaSz,

To the Mrs and I Isaac is growing at an alarming rate. Too fast for our liking. Sigh.....

We'll try and take more picture but it is really not easy.

You are so right about the last minute stuff to take care of. Luckily most people are understanding especially when we have 3 kids.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Amy,

Thanks for your compliment. Let's hope they remain this adorable for many years to come.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Cynthia,

So you are one of the creative ones!!! "Huh! Again?!?!" will be most peoples reaction. Ours will be more like "What?!?!? Not again!!" Hahahaha

I'm glad you like the pictures. I'll try and put up more but it's hard for us to take pictures these days. Not enough hands to go around.

Nicole said...

so you have 2 helpers to help you with your babies????

2 helpers, 3 babies= SIONG!

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Sis,

Actually I do agree that they do look alike somehow. Even Hayley looks a little like Isaac.

I'll definitely try and take more pictures this Sunday but problem is with so many babies it will always be difficult and a little chaotic.

Actually the deleted comment was by Cynthia who accidentally posted her comment twice. Not so sure about hate fan but it there is then it is funny because he / she can always choose not to come and read this blog.

Oh well.....

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Charlene,

Long time no hear from you too! Busy huh?

Thanks for your compliment. Hayley is indeed very girlish. Will try and dress her up more for photo taking.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Judy,

Thank you very much for your compliment. Fingers crossed that they stay this adorable for years to come.

How is the maid hunting coming along?

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Ivy,

You know I keep hearing that Isaac looks like me but honestly when I look at our picture I can't tell.

Luke is chubby while Hayley still has room for improvement by the Mrs's standard. Hahahaha

I'm sure for you readers their changes would have been great. I will try and post more pictures but taking them is rather difficult with 3 adults looking after 3 babies.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Olivia,

The kids do look like one another. Hayley to a lesser extend but still have similar features.

Thanks for your compliment.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nicole,

We do not have 2 helpers. We still only have Ani. The other helper is Isaac's Godma's maid. She likes the 3 children very much too.

So it is now 1 helper plus 3 babies = just as SIONG!! Hahahaha

Your 3 babies are looking cute! bet u hear this so often now! :)

This is just so sweet. Just by seeing the photos will bring a smile on my face. A very xinfu n happy family. The twins r just so adorable. I guess u all will make heads turn if both u n the MRS bring all 3 children out. :)

no man's land said...

What a happy family picture at the end. =) You really gotta take more pictures of them and you and the Mrs together while they're still babies. Kids grow so fast it's alarming!

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Swissgal,

Welcome to my humble blog and congrats on your baby girl!! Must be so exciting for you now.

Thanks for your compliment. Actually we don't really hear a lot of "your babies are very cute" when we are out and about.

Mainly they are happy to learn that Luke and Hayley are twins.

You take great care and I hope to hear from you again!

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for your compliment and also for liking the pictures.

We are definitely very blessed for the 3 of them.

You are right about making heads turn whenever we are out. As I had mentioned in my blog going out these days is a rather big project "headache" so we do get a lot of stares.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Roanne,

Long time no hear from you. I do drop by your blog once in a while when I'm not too busy so I'm still current.

As for taking more pictures, we'll try because it is really not easy to hold all of them together.

Most of the time we are tired from having to carry their diaper bags and the prams etc.

I do agree they grow up really fast. Isaac is becoming such a little man now as we speak.

Nicole said...

Do a solo on Isaac!

I'll hope to 'hear' him talk and sing! Sure very cute! :)

I've managed to record a video of cleo's singing and her daddy is so impressed, he probably listens to it every other day? So when you manage to record Isaac's, it'll be your break time leisure. :)haha

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nicole,

If you are referring to those videos that you have put up in your blog then we have seen them. It is really cute.

We too hope to hear him talk and sing but he is doing none of that so far.

He does speak a lot of gibberish for now and he can call Papa and Mama. So we will just have to wait.

Now that my phone allows recording I'm sure I will play it over and over again for my own pleasure.

The Bimbo said...

mm I can't wait for the day when all three of them smile for a shot together!! :)

I think you're right.. my preggie friends are now usually late for meetings. It used to be just me... :P haha

no man's land said...

dylan, just a thought. when the twins are slightly older, maybe you guys can go for those studio family portraits or something. it'll be chaotic (for sure!), but fun nevertheless. and it'll make a great living room centre-piece on the wall. =)

wow... love the catchy title of this post.

times flies... guess Issac is used to be his role of a doting big kor kor to the twins now huh?

Lovely family pic!

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Bobo,

I think it will be a while before they know how to smile for a shot collectively. Isaac now understands that he is to smile when we point a camera at him so maybe we have to wait another year for the twins?

At least your pregnant friends have an excuse for being late. What’s yours huh? Hahaha

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Roanne,

I think we might just do that and I am sure we will probably continue to do that on a regular basis. We need to capture them at different stages of their growing up.

“Any reader owns a photo studio and is willing to sponsor? I can put up an advertorial here with the pictures.” ;p

Speaking of wall, once we have completed hanging the twins’ pictures on the wall I’ll take a picture of the wall to show all of you. This is one project that we are quite happy to do.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Charissa,

Don’t tell me you are one of those that got creative and ahead of yourself when you read the title. Hahahaha

Actually I don’t think Isaac understand he is a kor kor yet but he sure loves his siblings. He is always patting and kissing them. I made a promise to him that he can remain our baby and not worry about the title kor kor yet. I want to be fair to him. I want him to enjoy his childhood and not grow up too fast just because he has 2 younger siblings.

By the way it is nice to see that you are still reading this blog.

Take care

Nicole said...

If you have the intention to bring your babies for photo shoot on a regular basis, you seriously will mean regular basis! Because their looks and 'features' changes so fast, you have to keep updating yourself.

I think if you want a formal one, wait till when they are at least 1 year old(the twins), to be more 'stabilised'.

My sister was just telling me that she noticed that cleo's features seems to have change. She feels that cleo is becoming more boyish?? wah lau...haha

Nicole said...

and yes, i really have to compliment you and your mrs. your babies are growing very well, given the fact that they are preemies. I think many parents will die(ok, not literally) to have their babies be this big. :)

For me, I'm just happy enough that cleo used to be this big as well...haha...

Jas said...

Hi there,
wow your babies are all so grown up esp Issac. They all look like one another. Cute and they are so cuddly. Your MRS looks so small carrying all 3 in the photo :)

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nicole,

I don’t quite understand what you mean by updating myself. Anyway it will not be that regular lah since the cost for a studio shoot will not be cheap and I can’t imagine the work and madness that we have to go through.

Oh you are absolutely right for we are definitely waiting till they’re past one year old. Isaac had his done when he was much older also. This way they’ll have more expressions and at least can sit and stand on their own.

I don’t think Cleo is more boyish at least not from the pictures in your blog.

You seem to think the twins are “big” but I believe you are comparing them with other preemies right? The Mrs and I find them small actually when we see other babies but we are happy with their growth although their milk intake can be higher.

I think both you and I will be happier if both Cleo and Isaac can remain that big now instead of losing all the baby fats.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Jas,

Welcome back. You seem to like to comment only when I put up pictures of the children huh?! ;p

Yes they have grown quite a bit especially Isaac. Just last night I noticed that he is again taller now. They do resemble each other to a certain degree.

The Mrs will look smaller as they grow bigger and soon she will not be able to carry all of them for photo shoot already.

Hi Dylan

such lovely and happy family pics! Your twins have grown so much and I totally adore them. Keep up the good work both you and your Mrs! :)

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Dana's Mummy,

Thanks! I'm glad you like the pictures. They have grown quite a bit since so you might want to take a look at the newer pictures.

You adore them?! Hahahaha Maybe I should do an open house and invite all readers to their birthdays come February next year.
