Laughter

Isaac: From the Hebrew name יִצְחָק (Yitzchaq) which meant "he laughs".

One of the reason we like the name is the meaning behind it. It basically means laughter so we hope that Baby will always have laughter in his life and also may he bring laughter always to his loved ones as well.

If the below video is anything to go by then I believe he will definitely achieve both.

I noticed from the last post that clearly Isaac has a much stronger pulling power than what I have to say so in this post I shall not say too much.

Oh, I want you to know that the voice you hear is actually me talking to Isaac (trying to get him to laugh) but I have to stress that this is not how I normally talk. I'm sure you parents will understand that when you have children you will have to exaggerate your tone, pitch as well as facial expressions. So this is how Jim Carrey feels whenever he acts in one of those silly shows. I have to hand it to him because lately I'm beginning to understand that talking continuously with exaggerated facial expressions and mouth movement can be very tiring indeed.

Another thing to note is you will be able to see Dino walking around and when I moved Isaac to one side in the video, it was due to Dino coming over to either lick Isaac or my face.

It takes a few seconds for Isaac to warm up but give it some time and I'm sure he will bring laughter to your life even if it is only for that few minutes.

Enjoy!!

Hi Dylan,
Isaac certainly doesn't look like he's easy to carry. Very tiring work. Haha. Same goes for Ms Cleo too. Haha..

I'm also trying to record down cleo's laughing away but it's kinda hard when she saw the camera. she'll stare at the camera and just smile and smile. no laughers...Haha

Oh, Issac is so sweet! That laughter is priceless. :) Sure gave him the rite name! Please give one extra hug from Auntie Ee for me, thanks!

Hi Dylan,

Isaac is such a happy baby! & it's oh so contagious....

BTW, I've wanted to ask you abt the book you're publishing in your previous posts, but got carried away with Isaac's "sumo" pic...haha.. Are you writing a book on "A Husband's Voice"? Juz curious... =)

Hi Babelicious,

I know how some of you dislike Mondays hence usually I try my best to post something on Mondays.

Will give Isaac a big hug on your behalf.

Hi Eve,

You the lady with 2 Golden Retrievers? If you are, it has been a really long time since you left any comments here.

You must have given birth by now right? Would it happen to be a cute little girl named Nyeshia?

Anyway be careful with what you wish for because I may just take up your offer and offload Isaac with you on some nights. Hahahaha

Hi Sharyn,

I agree with you. All I want now is for Isaac to be happy and laugh everyday. That is until he starts school then I want him to top the standard in both academics and sports. He should also excel in music and arts!!! Hahahaha

Try and capture Kayden's laughter too cause we can already see his nice smile.

Hi Nicole,

Nice to see that while on a break from blogging you continue to leave comments here.

The Mrs is finding it a little hard to carry Isaac for a long time. I'm doing slightly better in that department and he is only about 7kg. I hope we do not have to carry him when he is a toddler.

Like Cleo, Isaac likes to stare at the camera too. It was a rare occasion that he was so engaging and laughed for so long so the Mrs quickly whipped out her new camera and recorded.

Personally I feel that this recording is priceless.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hey Fucheen,

Wow Isaac's laughter is really good at getting you ladies to comment after missing in action for so long.

How is your daughter? What's her name? Did you make fun of the family Tan like you mentioned in your last comment?

I will surely give him an additional hug for each comment that is left here.

Do drop in more often okay? Take care.

Hi Nana,

His laughter is contagious isn't it? Being a proud Dad, naturally I played the video to a few people and they all had the same result. All laughed along with Isaac.

So I take it that you are one of the few who actually read what I had to say although you were clearly distracted by Isaac's body. Hahahaha

About the book, it is still on planning stage but publishing what I had blogged about in the first few months of my blogging up to Isaac being born did cross my mind. I'm just not sure if there will be anyone who is interested in buying them.

What do you think?

*hahaha* he's so cute! i watched the video twice, and now my cheeks are aching coz' i smiled throughout both times. =)

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Roanne,

You are not supposed to just smile when you watch the video. You are supposed to laugh along. ;) Kidding

I watched it many times and each time it will bring a smile to my face too.

At least you have another source (besides your daughter of course) for comfort and to brighten up your day.

Baby's laughter, we all like!!

Hi Dylan,

Personally, i m a NON book lover. Call me shallow, but i only rem reading Sidney Sheldon's books...keke...

However, I must agree your blog (or rather, your skills in writing & expressing yourself) do hv this "pulling" power. The moment i chanced upon this blog, i couldn't help, but kept 'digging' thru ur very 1st post. There might be a few posts which i did not leave comments, but truth was - I was still faithfully reading...

To sum up, yes - i think there'll be pple reading, but wld they be interested IF they hv to pay for it? that's another qn. Perhaps you can conduct a market survey (voting)here? =)

hahaha, his laughter is sooo very infectious!

well, Isaac takes after his name then, such a happy baby :) and bringing smiles/laughter to others too :)

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Bebe,

I cannot take credit when it is not mine. The Nippon Paint part was actually brought up by another reader, Soleil (see comments on Laughter). I totally cracked up too when I saw her suggestion for me to call Nippon Paint.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nana,

You, shallow?!?! No!!! You're reading my blog aren't you? Hahahaha

Thank you so much for your kind words. I honestly hope I am able to sustain this interest in my blog. As it is I am finding it a little hard to find the time to post something new on a weekly basis.

If I do go ahead with publishing this blog into a book, it will be to leave a "legacy" behind for Isaac that's all. I never for one second think that I can actually make money from publishing the book. To me it is a matter of how much I have to lose. ;)

If the book is not priced too high then maybe people may just pick it up but that means I will have to remove (or password protect) the older posts from here.

Market survey here will not be accurate since most if not all of you readers would have followed our journey since day 1 so chances are you will not buy. Unless of course Isaac autorgraphs them. Hahahaha

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Cynthia

Ya, his laughter is very infectious but unfortunately he is not always in the mood to laugh. He likes to smile and talk a lot though.

Guess it is easy for him to live up to his name now since there is not a care in the world except for food. I truly hope that he will continue to have laughter with him wherever he goes when he grows up.

Hello, I am new to your blog, but Issac is really infectious! My younger girl, Claris, loves to watch Issac's video and she laughs along with him. She is now 14 mths old and weighs 7kg!
thank you for sharing Issac with us.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi there anonymous, (do leave a name in future?)

Thanks for chancing upon my blog and also for leaving your comment here.

Hmmmm..... I'm thinking of 2 things here.

1st I'm glad to know that Claris is laughing along with Isaac. Another proof that he is already living up to his name.

2nd thing is a little worrying because Claris is 14 mths and weighs 7kg. Isaac is coming to 5 mths and he is already 7.3kg. Does this mean that he is gaining too much weight like his photo suggests?

Nicole said...

Hi Dylan,

That should probably be my concern too as Cleo is around that weight too! And she's of the same age as Isaac. I think everyone is right, when they commented that both Isaac and Cleo are big size, round, chubby, blah blah blah. and of course CUTE!

They'll slim down naturally when they learn to walk and run. Don't worry. :)

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nicole,

I know for a fact that most children will slim down as they grow older hence most parents want to fatten them up when they're still young.

I'm just wondering if Isaac is really on the slightly overweight side based on his weight alone? Do you know how much should the average 4 - 5 mth old baby weigh?

Like I posted before, average is good.

Nicole said...

Emmm..Personally, I don't know but the nurse told me Cleo was 'above average' and seriously, Isaac's and Cleo's size doesn't suggest anything 'average' lor.

Just look at ppl's reactions and you'll know. Just few days back, there's this chap who asked me ' 6 months'? (pointing at Cleo). I said nope, 4.5 months, he went WAH!!! THen give me an incredulous look! I felt embarassed myself when I mentioned that.

So no, I don't think they're of average size, that's for certain. BUT I'll still go and find out more when I bring Cleo for her vaccine this month. :)

Oh hi, you are right. Eve= Nyeshia's mummy.
Hummm.. i was surprise when you left a comment in my blog this morning. you know abt my goldies too : )
Long time since I left baby Issac a comment?
I didn't realise that at all but i do update myself with your entries. Love your darling boy.
He's so cute and chubby : )

Hi Dylan
My name is Lee, mum of Claris (sorry for not leaving a name in the previous comment)
well, we are curently staying in USA, and according to the chart here, Claris is always under the chart(underweight) My older girl (Annabebelle, 4) is the same, underweight throughout her baby years. She finally hit the 25%tile during her 4 yr checkup. so don't worry. as long as Issac is healthy (he certainly looks so), you have nothing to worry abt. in the meantime, just enjoy your happy buddha ;-)

Hi Dylan,

Indeed, Issac laughter is contagious..u should have put a warning..hee : P

Enjoy all these precious moments, once he starts to talk..hmm..u will have endless questions to answer.

Hi Dylan
just weight ms cleo yesterday. she's now 7.6kg@4.5 months. and its above average. many of my friends said that she is huge.hee....

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nicole,

You do not think Cleo and Isaac's size is average? Hmmm.... I know they're not skinny but it is not uncommon to find babies of their size surely. I believed I might have seen a few.

We do get the usual "Wah you baby is quite big ah?!" but we didn't think too much of it until my MIL also mentioned. I always thought my nephew who was born in January last year was pretty big when he was a few months old but my MIL confirmed that Isaac is bigger.

That was a real surprised to me.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Eve,

I'm sure you know there is a way of knowing who visited your blog and where were they referred from. Like I said in my earlier post I would like to read all my readers' blogs too so I am excited to see new ones.

The first time (and only time until this post) was when I blogged about Dino. You mentioned in there that you have 2 Goldies and you were also expecting.

So when I saw your blog, I put two and two together and guessed that you must be Eve. Anyway it is not everyday that you come across an Owner with 2 Goldies whom are very lovely by the way.

Nyeshia is very cute too and falling asleep in the water?!?! Hahahaha

Keep reading ya!

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Lee,

Thanks for leaving your name. Makes it that much more personal when I reply you.

I think I am beginning to come to terms that Isaac is slightly overweight. Afterall the PD did call him Chubby.

Believe it or not you are the first to call him Happy Buddha. He does look like one doesn't he? Wait till you see the latest pictures of him bald. Hahahaha

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Astee,

Will take note of the warning sign and of course the disclaimer.

We are certainly enjoying these moments tremendously but no matter how much we enjoy we still find that he is growing too fast. Oh, I mean growing up not horizontally.

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nicole,

Cleo is definitely heavier than Isaac. The last we measured a few days ago he was about 7.3kg.

No matter he is definitely chasing Cleo. He was below 3kg when born.

When we next bring him to the PD will take down his other measurements for our comparison.

Nicole said...

Hi Dylan,
Cleo was only 2.8kg when born. Around the same weight as Isaac too. I think Isaac is only few hundred grams heavier right?

Yes, we'll just have to agree that our kids are big. Some said HUGE.

Even my mum, who super loves chubby(fat) babies/kids, cannot 'tahan' Cleo. Said that she's one 'big piece rice(in cantonese). That's her nickname for Cleo now. She'll go ' wah, big piece rice, wanna drink milk already ah!' Hahahaaha!

Opps Dylan...
Frankly speaking I don't know there's way to know who actually view my blog...
Oh no!!
Can you tell me how : )

A Husband's Voice said...

Hi Nicole,

Yes I guess I have to accept that Isaac is big although it is purely based on feedback from people around us. Personally I am still not convinced. Guess I have to go out more and check other children out. Hahahaha

I know my parents and in-laws think that Isaac is big but they are still very discreet and will not call him names in front of him. Guess they still want him to grow bigger!?!?

Hi Eve,

I'm not sure if my is the best method by how I know is I signed up with the counter service for visitors for my blog and besides keeping track of the number of visitors, it will also give you a rather detailed report of who they are.

Well, actually not exactly who they are but rather their computer's IP address. I am able to tell the readers of my blog are from which country and in case they are referred by another blog it will be shown too.

I am also able to see what search words that they used that led them to my blog and which particular post.

Do try it. I'm using the Blogpatrol.com. There are many others in the market.
